Hello and happy Friday the 13th!  This is going to be a very quick post.  I just wanted to let you know that Haunt on the Hill will be taking a short break next week and the following Monday while we are away on vacation, but fear not because we have some very exciting news to share with you upon our return.  In the meantime, why not join in the conversation on candy from last Monday’s post?  Lots of people have commented and you should too!

Hallowindow in action!

Today is full of greatness!  Or weirdness, either way it’s a good day at the haunt!  First I thought you should know that there are two more parts in my series on projection haunting still to come!  The first was last Friday’s interview with Hallowindow, the second will be on Monday when we take a look at The Bates Haunt and lastly, next Friday we talk to Andrew Grant of Scaremation.  So much projectiony goodness!

Now what’s been going on with Haunt on the Hill you ask?  You didn’t ask?  Well I’m telling you anyway!  I’ve been hard at work on props for this coming Halloween and have decided that you deserve a sneak peak at one that I am especially proud of. 

As any past visitor to the haunt can attest, we have never had an opening/closing coffin, although we have attempted to for the past five or so years.  Something always seemed to go wrong or break at the last minute, but I did not give up!  I got my hands on a MonsterGuts motor and set to work on the coffin.  It’s not done yet, some tinkering still needs doing and a good ole monster hand needs to be fabricated and attached, but otherwise, it’s working like a charm.

I’ll have more sneak peaks on props in the works over the next little while,  so keep checking back.  In the meantime, I must remind you all that I am looking for sponsors to help raise money for charity.  If you know of a company or business that would like to help out, please use the contact form on this site to get in touch with me.  Also, if you have a website, store, product, home haunt, etc… that you would like me to discuss on this site, drop me a line and we’ll talk.  I’ve already been receiving lots of emails from people, but would love to hear more from my fellow haunters!

Hello all.  Your friendly neighbourhood haunter here with exciting news!  Every Monday and Friday are new content days here at the site.  Come back on these days to read up on  the latest and greatest.  If you have any ideas of things you would like to hear about, be it Haunt on the Hill, another great home haunt, products, stores, etc… let me know and I’ll look into it.

Next on the taking care of business end, I would like to inform you all that as of this past June 28th, I became officially one year closer to death and while I have never been certain why we celebrate such a ridiculous thing, I do partake in the presents that come along with it.   Therefore I  thought you should all know that while I loved the dress my mom bought me, I loved the Ryobi circular saw even more!  Thanks to my parents for throwing caution to the wind and buying me power tools!  I also have a new shop vac, but more on that later.

In my many efforts to improve on both the site and the haunt over the years, I have created a new version of the site which will be much more organized and easy to update! I have also set a new personal goal to increase the amount of donations the haunt collects for charity.  The old site was great, but many features were hard to find and on my end it was hard to update pictures and videos. 

Here are some important things you should know about the new site:

• Every Monday there will be new blog posts!  I will now be blogging about Haunt on the Hill, as well as other home haunts that I like.  I may talk about Halloween products, shows, anything Halloween related!  Come back weekly for new content!
• Everything is now organized under subheadings so you can find things much easier!
• There are a few new pages of note: I now have a page devoted to current sponsors, as well as a page for businesses looking to help sponsor and raise money for charity!
• The Haunt now, in addition to collecting donations on the 31st, also has an online donation page where you can contribute to The Sick Kids Foundation.  Just click on The SickKids page.
• There is now a facebook page for Haunt on the Hill!  Join it!
• The guestbook has been integrated directly into the site!
• I like exclamation marks!
• Are you seriously still reading this?

There’s a whole lot more to discover, so look around and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me or leave a message in the guestbook!  Oh, and the list of new props for Halloween 2010 will be posted soon, as I have been hard at work and even have a few things done already!
